I read a paranormal forum for kicks-- with my love of Halloween, how could I not be interested in that stuff? Some people take it all too seriously, though.
This weekend someone posted that they had gone against their better judgment and used an Ouija board. They claimed to have spoken with 6 different spirits though the board. The first, they said, kept repeating A9. The girl said she had no idea what it meant, so she googled A9. Nothing came up. Then she wrote about the other spirits. The last one, she said, kept repeating 3:14am. She suspected it was connected with the A9 entity.
I read through others' responses to her post... Most people chided her for using an Ouija Board against her better judgment. Others focused on her having possibly "released something horrible."
I took the low road and told her:
A9 3:14 am, huh? If you're really paranoid, you may want to sleep with earplugs in on August 9th... if you believe that junk. Sleep with a Bible and stay away from Ouija boards, I guess. Of course, I probably just made your paranoia worse by speculating A9 stands for August 9th. I guess you could sleep somewhere else that night, but you know what happens to those who try to change their future, right?
Have you heard of Oedipus? His father, King Laius, saw the oracle and she told him that he'd have a son and his son would murder him and marry Queen Jocasta. When his son was born, he stabbed him in the feet and left him for dead. Someone picked Oedipus up and took him to Thebes. Oedipus grew up not knowing his true father, but still knew of the prophecy... so he left his adopted home to solve the Sphinx's Riddle. On the way, he slays his father then marries his mother and becomes king... fulfilling the prophecy.
Had King Laius not tried to prevent the inevitable, things may have gone differently... but you never know... and a story is just a story.
Though, I'm somewhat interested to hear about what, if anything, happens at 3:15am on Sunday, August 9th.
Sorry if I scared you... Maybe A9 stands for the number of apples you're going to cut for a great apple pie you'll be making in the wee hours of the morning that day for a church bake sale?
... I'm so mean. She'll probably be stressed and worried the next two weeks. Still... I am amused.
Just FYI- I don't know how Ouija Boards work, so I stay away from them. It's best not to tempt fate, afterall.
