I'd been teasing this Vietnamese guy I work with named Duc (that's pronounced duke not duck)... ever since I told him I'd eaten pig ears and he told me he'd eaten chicken feet.
We teased him about bringing chicken feet to the company pot-luck in march... and, now that he was leaving the company, I teased him some more about how it was so sad we never got to eat chicken feet.
"You wanna go eat chicken feet tomorrow?(thursday)"
Sure!
So we got our whole department and one guy from land development to come with us out to lunch to Gee's Garden.
There were 4 chicken feet. 5 of us tried it. They were pretty good, though there wasn't much meat and it was sorta difficult to eat. I liked the sauce on it best.
Then Duc ordered a buffet for us... large shrimp (with the heads still attached), octopus, duck, curry chicken, and fried and regular rice. The octopus was squishy... I don't like seafood, so I didn't eat much of the shrimp (some of the middle, where it wasn't head and didn't have poo in it)... the duck wasn't very meaty. It had a lot of bone so it didn't really satiate my hunger. Curry isn't my favorite, but I tried some curry chicken anyway... and rice... we all loaded up on rice.
Between the 8 of us, we ate all the food (chicken feet and all).
... and Duc suprised us all by paying for lunch. It was fabulous.
