Homecoming may just be the death of me.
I just spent an hour in a squishy field, listening to a live band as a bonfire went on behind me. Sounds nice, right?
I was forced to wear a short sleeve t-shirt with my jeans and I was in my flats, which are clothe, and therefore were wet within ten minutes of me standing around like a dork. It is currently about 50 degrees outside, even with the bonfire. To make matters worse, the homecoming queen from last year flaked out (big surprise there!) and I happened to pass by Ashlie as she was panicking.
The conversation went something like this:
Ashlie: You were Homecoming Queen, right?
Me: *wary cause I know the way Ashlie's mind works* Ye-es.
Ashlie: Good, you'll do. Last year's Queen was a flake, get up on stage, we need a former queen to do the raffle!
Me: No.
Ashlie: Yes.
Me: No.
Ashlie: Yes.
Me: No.
Ashlie: Jade, you get up there or by all this is holy I will tell everyone about your Power Rangers obsession!
Me: Ashlie, they voted for me during the Superhero Homecoming because I made an idiot of myself at the Talent show by naming all the rangers! And a couple of my pictures of me at the Power Rangers convention ended up in the school paper's "What I Did This Summer" spread last month! I'm pretty sure they already know about my love of PR!
Random Football Player Nearby: That was you?! Dude, when did Tommy cut his hair?!
Me: *facepalms*
Needless to say, they managed to get me up on stage. When it ended, Ashlie asked if I'd be going to the Homecoming Game.
Is it too late to fake the Measles?
