Not Gonna Be Harry Forever
Okay, I finally had a couple of hours to myself (in segments of course), so I finally sat down and watched the Dan interviews. Thoughts abound...
Jay Leno: Okay, seriously, am I the only one who thinks it's a little obvious that Jay has absolutely no chemistry at interviewing Dan??? I mean, it was almost awkward. It was an okay interview, but sincerely......awkward. I mean, come on, Dan's shy!!! It's kind of obvious!!! Don't tease the poor bugger!
Jimmy Kimmel: I HATE Jimmy Kimmel, but out of all of them, this interview was the best. Dan joked back, he was comfortable with himself (despite the fact that he resembled Peter Pan in that GOD-AWFUL shirt--who the hell picked that out?!?!?!), and it was genuinely funny. Most enjoyable of them all.
Ellen: I'm not even gonna start on the tongue thing. But I gotta be serious...I was absolutely blown away by how well done his American accent was!!!! O_O It was truly bizarre, of course, but he actually did a really good job.
TRL: There are no words. I hate MTV.
All in all (and I know I was asking for it having watched four interviews about promoting December Boys), but I got BORED after a while. And I really felt for the poor guy (and every actor who has to do this many promotional interviews). I mean, he basically has to repeat everything 50 times a day. It's gotta get old. But as usual, he was charming and respectable. (I now know why I wouldn't WANT to be in the film industry if I ever got there.) But it's gotta get old. Fast.
And I SOOOOOOOOOOO have to rant here...
Yeah, he's adorable, and on occasion, very sexy, but if I hear "why-don't-you-have-a-girlfriend" one............more.................time.............. Grrrrrrrrrrrr. I have ultimate respect for the guy telling everyone (in so many words) to shut up and let them get on with the interview. "I don't need an 'aw'." *smirks* Atta boy.
And forgive me for this, but he did it already. He appeared naked in front of a live audience. *twirls finger* Whoop-de-doo. Get over it. Yes, he's breaking away from Harry. Let. Him. Do. It. Quit commenting on it!!! (And for the love of Christ, try actually reading "Equus." It's a HELL of a play.) He drinks. (So does everybody.) He's not spending all his money even though he's the richest teenager ever. (Good for him.) My advice? Stay the hell away from Japan.
Forgive me, but seriously, if I were Dan, I wouldn't come within 100 miles of some of his fans.
