What's Red and Shiny?
Our new car!
Well, we went and did it. We bought a new car. A shiny, red, mean looking, Dodge Charger. It's our new baby.
This thing is fully loaded (leather, power everything, you know, the essentials...)
We have been playing with the idea of getting rid of the Neon since Christmas (well since last summer, but seriously since Christmas) and the straw that finally broke the camels back was the front light burnt out. It's small and innocuous, but it was the last in a long line of "small and innocuous" problems that we'd had to fix.
Four out of 5 days last week I had to get the car jump started after work. Which really wasn't fun, I get off at 9pm and park in a, by that point, almost deserted parking lot. And Friday it was by a complete stranger because my car died at the gas pump.
So Wednesday we signed the papers, the car was delivered Thursday (we had been hoping for Wednesday but they couldn't get it back from emissions testing in time to get to licensing).
Kay in a rear wheel drive car in the snow is interesting to say the least. Hell me in anything with balls in fun to watch and oh man does this car have a set!
I basically spent all of yesterday showing everyone who stopped by my desk to say hi my picture of Luc, myself, and the new car.
We also went to see Larry the Cable Guy on Wednesday night. Luc scored box seats with parking included, so that was our Christmas gift to ourselves. (The car is Valentines and my b-day, hey it's red!) Oh my good gord I almost peed myself laughing. We've got to start going out to comedy clubs more often.
I had Tuesday and Wednesday off work (random vacation), so with everything, I've had a really good week. And just to top it off they just suckered 16 more people into joining the retention team (my department) and they just hit the phones today, I've maybe taken 5 calls in 2 hours. And we're going to North Bay this weekend to visit Richard and Lorianne.
Yeah, this has been a really good week.
