- I've always considered it very lame that Padmé "lost the will to live" after having given birth to two healthy babies (not to mention that a droid said it, and just the way he/it said it rubbed me wrong, but that's beside the point). I could appreciate the symbolism of Padmé dying whilst Anakin was reborn, but I still didn't like it.
This post, titled "The Queen's Sacrifice", presents a new sybolical and philosophical angle that I hadn't considered. And I can get behind it, especially with regards to Luke's role following Padmé's. Neat.
