10:52 So some genious managed to let Recon out of the house on Tuesday without noticing. That is hard to imagine since he is atleast a 15 pound cat who is bright orange! He doesn't exactly blend in with nature in these parts. He has also not come home yet. He is also MY cat. I got him as a kitten when I was in eighth grade. (It was a compromise between my mother and myself as I wanted another sibling to play with) This is weird because he is never gone more than a few hours. He usually comes home to eat or get out of the rain/cold. So now I am thinking he has been run over, eaten by a fox, bitten by a copperhead or managed to get himself killed in a variety of other ways. We left food on the doorstep last night and it was missing this morning but since we live next to a state park it is just as likely that another animal ate the kibble. So today we are going to call local animal control and shelters to see if anyone has reported or turned him in. We also get to make flyers and post them.
EDIT
11:43 I was sitting outside and heard some cats cussing at each other. I assumed it was Recon and the mangey cat who has claimed out yard as his turf. So I went clibing through the woods and over the creek towards the sound. It was coming from the storm sewer. Apparently he has been living there with the other cat for three days. When I called Recon's name his little eyes came peeking out at me from inside the drain. He wasn't happy about something. It took awhile to convince him to let me near him, although once he was picked up he came home quite peacefully. Growling cats are unnerving. Anyway the little brat is home now. I am thinking of getting him a harness and a leash since he likes being outside so much. Last time we tried he was a kitten and always made a bee line for the bushes.
