So Easter is almost over now. I went to the Catholic Easter night mass for the first time in my life because friends of mine had always said how beautiful it is; and they were right. What happens is that all the lights in the church are turned off. There is a fire - the Easter fire - outside the church. The reverend carries a massive 4 foot candle out to that fire, lights it and carries the light back into the dark church. Everybody in the church has a smaller candle and the all get lit from that big one until it is one big sea of candlelight. It was really pretty. I did have to suppress laughing from time to time though because they had trumpets and a kettledrum and the whole switching the lights back on thing was a little too Stephen Spielberg for my taste :D but it was fun. I think I might go again next year.
In other news my little sister is being very difficult to be around. She will write her IB exams in May and uses the excuse of studying to get out of all the not so nice aspects of family life, like compulsory family coffees with all the relatives, yet she always seems to be able to find the time to jump up and go swimming with her friends... it frustrates me a little, but what the heck.
I should be reading a bit more secondary lit for my english essay, might get on to that tomorrow. I am also reading The Driver´s Seat by Muriel Spark and should get started on Pale Fire by Nabokov... and only a little more than a week left to the holidays. I am really looking forward to the summer, I need a proper break.
