Title:
Cooking Up Murder Teaser
Summary: The opening teaser for the episode 'The Blue Moon Club'.
Rating: PG13
A/N: Written in script form.
TEASER:
EXT: ALLEY
A dark gloomy narrow alley with mossy brick walls. Rubbish bins litter the alley, overflowing with their contents. The camera pans down the alley, past empty boxes, waiting for the bin men to come and take them away, turning left down another alley, past the back gardens.
CUT TO:
A pair of black boots walk into shot. The person is walking quietly, almost as if they're creeping around but they walk with a purposeful stride. The camera pans up to the person's chest, revealling that it is a male, wearing all black, black shirt left untucked from his trousers, long black coat left unbuttoned, with his hands in his pockets.
He walks a little further and the camera switches to his POV, showing that he is heading towards a building lit with neon lights, spelling out the name of the club. Faint music can be heard from beyond the doors, getting slightly louder as he approaches. The front entrance is guarded by a bouncer, who stands at six foot four and is very muscular. The bouncer has cropped black hair.
EXT: OUTSIDE THE BLUE MOON CLUB
MAN'S POV:
He stops outside the bouncer and tilts his head up slightly to look the bouncer in the eyes. The bouncer looks slightly down at the man and leans towards him. There is a jagged scar across the man's forehead, almost as if it was caused by a wild animal.
BOUNCER:
(gruffly) Got ID?
The man's hand snaps up into view with a wallet in his hand, showing the bouncer his ID. The contents of the wallet are not visible to the audience at the moment.
BOUNCER:
(cont) Stand with your arms in the air and your legs spread.
The boncer moves behind the man, patting him down, searching for weapons, finding none. He moves to the front and repeats the action.
The bouncer nods reluctantly and steps aside, allowing the man to enter.
BOUNCER:
(cont) You know the rules. No fighting, no weapons and definitely no murder.
MAN:
(quietly, almost to himself) Of course.

INT: INSIDE THE BLUE MOON CLUB
The man walks inside, nodding at various other customers as he passes them. The interior of the club is dimly lit by circular side lights. The music is now louder but is not loud enough for dialogue to be inaudiable. A blonde woman wearing a blood red shawl and red dress gives him a once over and growls at him in a flirtatious way. The man growls back, but his growl is more of a warning for her to keep away from him. The woman's eyes widen - message received and understood- and she walks past him.
The camera switches to behind him. His actual hair colour is impossible to see in the dim lighting but his hair is just long enough to brush the top of his collar of his coat.
CUT TO:
INT: THE BAR
The man walks to the bar, which is brightly lit, compared to the rest of the club and looks around. Couples of all kinds are talking, kissing and otherwise engaged in the shadows. A dimly lit dancefloor is crowded. The camera focuses on a dark haired man dancing seductively with a tall red head. This is the owner of the club, James and his date for the evening. James looks straight at the man, lifts his hand in greeting before turning back to his date.
The man rests his elbows on the bar, before straightening up in disgust, rubbing a hand over the elbows of his coat. The bar is covered with a dark liquid, almost invisible against the dark wood.
THE BARTENDER:
(coming over with a cloth to wipe the bar down)
What can I get you? The usual?
The man nods, watching as the bartender tends to his order.
BARTENDER:
(cont, pouring a dark red liquid into a tall glass) Did you hear? (the man shakes his head) James had to kick out two trouble makers earlier. The troublemakers were hitting on James' mates and they wouldn't get the hint that they weren't interested. Him and Jack had to escort them out and told not to come back. (places the glass in front of the man) One bloody Mary. On your tab as usual?
MAN:
(in a Scottish accented voice)
Yeah. Thanks, Mike.
The man looks up into the mirror behind the bar, as he sips his drink, showing his face for the first time and it's JJ. JJ smiles at his reflection but there is something slightly off with his smile.
