Title: In The Dark
Characters: The Master, Mystery character
Summary: The Master has a clandestine meeting.

A/N: Yes, I left it open on who he's meeting because I'd love to hear your ideas. I had a plot bunny for a longer series and I may just write it if I can get the bunnies percolating.
She found herself in a dark chamber, illuminated by only one candle. The light flickered casting unnecessary shadows on the misshapen walls. A dark shape lurked on the outskirts of the light, leaning against the wall.
"Excellent plan, my dear," the voice, belonging to the shape, said coldly stepping into the light. It was a man with light brown hair and cold brown eyes. "Get rid of the companion and get rid of the competition. Such as it is."
"Thank you, Master," she said, leaning over the offered hand. "The Doctor needs to learn that it's only me he loves, not her."
The Master reached out and caressed her cheek. "My poor dear, it must hurt to find out that you could never match up to her... According to him anyway."
"I did everything for him and now that she's there, he won't even look at me. Not the way I want him to, anyway. She needs to pay."
"So cutting her off from her friends is better than just killing her?"
"Yeah, if she's dead the Doctor and Jack would come after her killers for revenge, if they believes she's beyond help, then when I do kill her, they won't think anything of it... They'd think of it as taking out the rubbish."
"Seems I underestimated the human desire for revenge. You know, getting rid of her will be killing two birds with one stone. It would hurt the Doctor and you'll get him for yourself. Comfort him in his hour of need."
"He'll be so grateful."
"Yes. Now, remember, you must act good and innocent."
"I always do."
"Good. Also you have no idea that I'm still alive."
"You're alive?" she asked, trying to sound suitably shocked. "How's that?"
"Fine, but remember, you want it to be understated. We're going for Oscar acting not pantomime."
"I'll work on it."
"Now go," the Master watched her go and smirked. "We will have our revenge."
