I'm here and I'm alive
If you haven't seen me floating around and were curious, rest assured... I'm still here. I've been posting (privately) a few plot outlines for future fics and rpg applications. I'm still looking through most of the communities I belong to, commenting to other's posts and making my own. So... I'm here! Just not in my journal all the time ;)
It hailed here last night. Wow - it was actually cold enough to do that. The last time I remember hail was when I was in grade school, although I think it happened a few years ago too (and I just didn't pay attention).
Hmm... nothing really new here. A couple of co-workers are leaving(quitting) at the end of the month (they will be getting better jobs), and my work schedule will probably change as a result. Of course, the supervisors are dragging their feet about the new schedules for everyone. I think they're hoping to hire replacements, but even if they do, it takes at least 2-3 months to train them and that just means they won't be scheduled to work independently until then (which just adds pressure to the rest of us to pick up the slack). I am surprised that they are leaving though... I thought they'd stick around for another six months to a year.
They did hire a supervisor for a related-department (the position I mentioned before that a few people said I should interview for, but I didn't want to deal with the politics) but he hasn't even started yet. The interim-supervisor is on vacation herself, so I wonder how she'll feel when she has to give up the position (probably relief). I think everyone's taking bets to see how long this person will last. I think the previous supervisor only lasted for a few years (he started before I came onboard).
I received my books from B&N online. Now they're staring me in the face. I think it's good - they will give me motivation. Now, if I can only switch my singular-obsession to real writing... ;)
