Bwahaha, my friend got on the waiting list at the library for the newest Stephanie Plum book, Twelve Sharp, which she then lent to me. Just finished reading it today. Took me what seemed like a very short amount of time because, well, let's just face it, Janet Evanovich is a pro at making her books fun to read.
Classic Steph moments all around, with both Ranger and Morelli. Not to mention Grandma Mazur and Lula. God. I swear, the Stephanie Plum series is the only series of books that can actually make me laugh out loud more than once - in public. It was really embarassing when I didn't have the car and I had to commute to school by bus.
Overall, I think the book was good. Not as good as Ten Big Ones, but that one was like the height of the series. A perfect mix of action/adventure/comedy, unlike Eleven on Top and now Twelve Sharp. Janet Evanovich is very good at the whole mystery/action/comedy combination, especially the first and last part, but the comedy usually tends to stand out more. I can name hilarious parts off of all twelve books from the top of my head. But Ten Big Ones is the only one where it had that perfect mix, where the action/mystery was so good you could remember that as well as the comedic parts.
Still, really really good. Funny as hell. I love this series.
