I had a great morning!
Okay, I have been obsessing over I'm Not a Plastic Bag since April Don't ask me why, but I've been mildly obsessed. It all started in April, when I read an eensy article in Women's Wear Daily, where I decided that I had to have the bag. I didn't know how popular is would be. Pre-orders sold out online in 30 minutes. I asked Alexa to get one for me in London, but there were queues since midnight and Alexa wasn't able to get me one. The U.K. online pre-orders nearly crashed their site for the U.S. release they decided that you had to get one in person. When they came out in New York, it was the week after I started my internship and I couldn't get away. Today, there was a wider release at Whole Foods, so I got up at 6 in the morning, went to Columbus Circle, and stood in the rain for an hour. My wait wasn't that bad, but die hard people had been there since midnight. Doors opened at 7:30 and by 8:10 I was happily walking out with my bag!
Yes, it sounds silly,
but I wasn't the only one out there.
Because I got out on time I was able to have breakfast with MTV at TRL. It was another planning presentation, and I was like the only person from my account there, so it was really good to network and talk with the MTV reps. Breakfast was the standard continental fare, but it was supercool because we had it at the TRL set and I got to look out the window and everything. The presentation was mostly an overview of their marketing strategy and they previewed for us their upcoming fall shows. Also, I got an MTV sweatshirt!
