zzzzzzz.

This past week I attempted to go back to work for a regular 9-5 work week after my surgery.

Needless to say, my plans were thwarted. By the end of the week, I was exhausted. I couldn't make it through the day and had to leave early to get a nap and do some work from home instead. I think that's what is going to happen next week as well. Ah well, I tried.

The good thing is that my work is being fantastic about everything. I'm just doing the best I can, as much work as I can, but my boss and my GM keep telling me to take care of myself first. It made me realize how lucky I am to have a job where I don't have to worry about being fired for taking too much time off, or having to decide between my health or my job. It's always been that way, but this is the worst illness I've had that I've actually had to test it. Unfortunately we don't have any kind of short-term disability insurance, so this is how the office deals with short term things. If it was an illness that would be longer, we do have long-term disability.

So I mentioned my tsh is dropping through the floor. Monday I go for my first blood test of my treatment process. Tsh dropping is making me tired and week, my hair is getting dry, my nails are breaking, and just being tired is making me look pretty pale which I think is a bit unnerving to other people, which is one thing I don't like. As much as I'll joke about it, honestly, I really don't want sympathy from people....I'll be fine. :) But when you look ill, I guess it's just hard for people to believe that.

I also got to start my low-iodine diet. This morning I had homemade bread. As long as I keep making bread, I'll get through the month. :)
