Four days straight of festivities takes a tole on you.

God, I know people are like "Christmas is fun!" but with my complex extended family, I have to go through christmas 5 times. Each in its own way. Each with only decent, impersonal gifts. I still don't understand why my parents go to the extent they do to get nice, personal things for everyone when we hardly get the same, UNLESS we specifically ask for it.

Ah well.

This years spoils. (If I can remember them)

My dad's parents
1. Copic pen set
2. America's Manga-ka (artbook)
3. Graphic zip up sweatshirt

My Mom's side of the family
4. wool trenchcoat from Wet Seal
5. $25 target giftcard
6. $145 cash
7. birthstone ring (very uncomfortable. . .)
8. Ornament
9. Fossil Wallet

My Dad's side
10. $25 forever 21 giftcard and lipgloss
11. Puzzle
12. "Scene it" Game (for both my sister and I
13. A gingerbread ceramic cookie jar and pepper salt shakers (Actually for our whole family. A crappy seasonal gift, and we don't even put up stockings anymore for christmas so, its basically a crappy gift from my aunt in order to avoid having to put in the effort to get both my sister and I something individually. )

My parents
14. My Printer (already currently being used)
15. A couple of necklaces that I picked out yesterday XD
16. Sims 2 Pets
17. Watch (that I also picked out)
18. Beck: The Information
19. The Killers: Sam's town
20. Socks (my mom's joke gift, but I did need them)
21. A device that basically locks your computer to a desk (needs combo and everything, for college)
22. College survival book

There.

Even though I didn't get much useful stuff, I did at least get lots of shopping money. I'm so glad I didn't buy anything when my sister and I went to forever 21 saturday night.

But, as is usual in my family, it is also a time for the snobbish christians in my family (I'm not sayin all christians are!) to rub in the fact that I'm most likely going to hell just for not going to church and to put constantly be smart alecs about it. Well, y'know what? Fuck it! Because it takes more then being a christian or even religious for that matter to be a good person! I mean, I respect my family members for choosing to be that way. I bow my head when we pray before dinner, I don't argue with them over dogma's, I don't even talk back when they make those sly comments. So, If I give them even the smallest sliver of respect, the least they could do is stop treating me and my family like we are their personal service projects and that saving our souls earns them a merrit badge that they can compare them with others at the pearly gates to decide who had the better life. Its bull shit! I refuse to be treated like a charity case or some troubled child! If you ask me, I've turned out far better then most of the "devout" in my family! I need only look as far as our past and my extended family to see it.

One of these days, I think I may just return the favor.
