the more i think about it, the more i realize high school was a very funny experience. i suppose all life though has a significant element of the absurb.
i haven't written in awhile, so what has happened since the last time we talked? i turned in my nationality rooms scholarship application. so i find out next friday whether or not i am a finalist and thus have to do a ring of interviews. i emailed professor liu and the anthropology club newsletter preserve stuff. i talked to lin for three and a half hours on friday. i watched errol flynn perform in the very sketchy "adventures of robin hood". i wanted to shoot myself in the face again during my HPS recitation. chinese had some interesting fake flirty moments. reem decided she wants to set me up on a blind date. my housing application got screwed up and i fixed that. i talked to klinduff and talked to amy. i had a deep reflection on myself and my past. i had another deep reflection about my relationship with myself.
then came the weekend. and with that a very nice and fun visit with kelly kat. lots of games, lots of late-ish nights, lots of talking, lots of tasty food, lots of pretty things...all in all i consider it a success :) besides it being nice to spend time with my sis, it was neat to tie my two worlds together. the last time kat visited i still had no idea about anything about pitt. but this time i got to show her all the little secret cool stuff i've found and hang out with my awesome roommates/friends...plus i discovered some new stuff too. like we actually really looked at heinz chapel and it's GORGEOUS. the stained glass windows are incredible. and i actually discovered how huge the gallery is in frick arts and learned a little bit about haiti. and finally we went to joe mama's and had chocolate cobbler...which is incredible.
disney scene it and catchphrase are very entertaining. so are craft scissors. and being random.
next weekend, mom visits and we have museum extravaganza
the weekend after that is the mongolian tsaagan gar festival
the weekend after after that is chinese new year and its film festival
the weekend after after after that is when chinese class is going to try to celebrate chinese new year. and i have orientation day for girl's hope.
the weekend after after after after that is the start of spring break
then i return after spring break
and then it's already mid-march
and at some point in there or after that i might be going to DC
besides having class on sundays, my weekends for forever are shot
luckily, without modern physics everything else is much more manageable
if i can stay on top of my two different research projects
and keep in contact with everyone i need to
and work on getting all the study abroad money i could possibly get
so...it was a nice oasis on saturday
and really, i can't quite find it in myself to be angry that i've taken on so much. i love chinese martial arts. i love archaeology. i love history. i love learning. i love chinese. i love too much and too few
but that's a tale for another time
now, should i watch "wo hu cang long" or "yin shi nan nu"?
decisions, decisions
which in a minute will reverse
