It was all of my energy..

Soo... We are getting down to the wire on vacation plans. There has been some fun drama as far as who is going, which car to take, etc..
Original plan consisted of:
Me, Angelo, Dan and Kaylin all going together.. Dan offered up his car for the drive which was perfect and that was that! For a good month that was the plan.. then on Monday they texted Angelo to say they had to cancel.. and because neither Angelo or I have cars that we can put an extra 1,600 miles on.. we were in a panic of "lovely, guess we have to cancel!" or "can we get away with using a rental car for that entire week money wise?" Also, cue me being a crying wreck at the thought of not being able to go... and this trip being the only thing I have been looking forward to doing all year.
Bah. Mentally exhausting. So... we asked Angelo's parents if they'd let us take their Jetta and his mom could borrow one of two cars her parents own that just live down the street.
Plan worked! Huzzah! So... as of now, Angelo and I are solo for this trip. We are leaving late Sunday night and going to just pull an all niter and drive straight through like we always did as kids. In total, the drive ends up being around 15 hours. Then we arrive in Mineral King and.. total relaxation and fun will kick in. Just the two of us now.. so it will either end with us hating each other or being closer than ever, haha. We'll be gone the entire week and come home the following Sunday.

Now that it's getting down to the wire, I have a ton of stuff I need to do still.
Checklists are FUN!
-Laundry
-Make up menu and shopping lists for every meal
-Stock up on supplies for drive
-Make granola
-Prep sourdough starter for pizza dough
-Bring sheets for upstairs beds
-Charge camera, bring extra batteries
-Books books books!
-Inform every one of my departure and assure them I'm not dead when my phone is turned off for the next 7 days.
-Iron out last details with my daddy-o on opening & closing procedures.
-*Finally* send emails back to Jake, Randy, Mia, Nathan and Pat to give the exact dates of our arrival.
-Bring gas can for generator
-Pay rent
-Call and ask mommy for her blueberry muffin recipe

....the list goes on and on but that's just a start. It's been 6 years since I've been able to be at my cabin and I am going old school all the way! We're going to make blueberry muffins for breakfast, as well as my dad's mountain hash (it sound disgusting but it isn't actual hash..) have the oh so popular pizza party for all of our fellow cabin owners, make my mom's famous apple and peach pies to bring along to the potluck on Saturday.. Plus, campfires at the Ingram cabin, tormenting campers, bringing an overhaul of booze and enjoy just being around the lovely Angelo and all the other people I grew up with. So so so excited.

As for life in general, it's been good. I have been working like crazy lately and feel just exhausted from it. Last weekend was absolutely absurd. We had several large caterings and weddings to cater *and* our Jamison at work was one of them! Her wedding was beautiful. I have never been so taken back by a wedding before.. and that's pretty much all I do for a living. She was stunning, her best friend Amanda played guitar and sang "I want to hold your hand" by the Beatles as she walked down the aisle, along side another friend playing the cello. It was outside in the evening and perfect. Travis was my willing date, which I was thrilled about. For Jamison's wedding present from all of us.. we did the catering, prep, cleanup and service for her wedding for free. Travis was a huge help and stood pressed up against me in the hotter than hell pantry that had the freezer where the gelato was stashed. It was sickeningly hot.. After we finished serving the gelato and putting it all out on the dessert table we were just sweaty, sticky messes. haha. I had chocolate gelato running up my arms, all over my dress, at one point T wiped some off of my eyebrow. It was a total mess but.. it's Jamison and we love her so it was all worth it.
After coming home from the wedding, both of us taking showers from being covered in sweat and going to bed.. was the biggest relief I'd had in awhile. It was exhausting.. not to mention last Friday I worked a total of 15 hours in one day. All my coworkers have fallen in love with Travis. Jenny informed me on Monday that if I get mauled by a bear and don't return home.. that she's going to hunt Travis down and make him take my job. He is nice.. a sarcastic bastard yes, but nice at the same time. And cute.. that helps. So does the neck thing.
Adam Nichols was the photographer at Jamison's wedding! After seeing Travis and I standing around drinking beer he joked "Kids with booze huh?" I informed him we are indeed 25 now so at least it's legal.. He looked like he'd been punched in the face. "You are kidding me. That makes my stomach hurt. I feel so fucking old now. 25? Really? Jesus."

Now I just wait and wait for Sunday to get here.. so I can be off for an entire week of nothing mixed in with hiking, reading, cooking and Angelo. Joy!

Once I am back home and sad from having to leave Mineral King.. I am sure there will be a huge update and lots of pictures. Until then.. Wish us luck! Here's to not crashing and dying while driving up that damn mountain road.
