4P Costumes, get!
So, yeah, I've pretty much finished my Universe playthrough as I've accomplished the goal I set for it. I may finish up the Maze of Tribulations, though. Gabriel isn't really that tough. Not gonna even touch Sphere 211. Lenneth is a bitch to fight.
Speaking of bitches, I've come to the conclusion that Firewall is the single most annoying and frustrating dungeon in the entire game. There's nothing like running through a series of narrow walkways trying to avoid polyhedrons rolling around that send you back to the door you entered from if they hit you. And to make things even better, I ended up going through it twice. See, after the first time I went on to the Spiral Tower and made my way to the final boss. Initiated the battle, and after a very tough fight, I claim victory and sit back to watch the ending. Unfortunately, I miscalculated in my effort to get Nel's paired ending and had to hit rest when her solo ending showed up. So I start again and feed Sophia about thirty or forty affection reducers, save, and go off to fight Luther again. Only this time, I get my ass kicked. And the next try, it happens again. And again. And...you get the picture, right? So finally decide to hike back out and synth some Orichalcums (+500 ATK) and Rainbow Diamonds (+100 DEF) to my weapons and head back. This time, not only do I beat Luther, I also get the "Beat in 8 minutes on Universe" battle trophy. And the Fayt/Nel ending as well.
Post game run consisted of going through the first six/seven floors of the Maze of Tribulations in order to get money to make better weapons that will allow me to get my remaining four battle trophies easier. And with a Raven Gauntlet synthed with seven fully refined Boots of Prowess, Cliff was able to claim "Defeat Villain Pair", "Defeat Villain Pair alone", and "Defeat Villain Pair without taking damage". Which meant I needed one more trophy and there was one more I could claim in Urssa Cave Temple..."Defeat Fayt at Universe". That fight was a nightmare...and one I'm not eager to repeat. I used more than half my resurrection items and a lot of healing ones. But now it's done and over with and Cliff, Maria, and Sophia are currently enjoying their 4P outfits.
Also, fencingkitty, when you've got NIN leveled up, let me know when you want to get a party together for. I think I'm going to solo level THF in the meantime, since I'm going to need it eventually as a subjob.
Edit: Also, my parents are going out of town next week and I will have the house all to myself. Are you and Justin free any day(s) to come visit?
