ACen Report
I know it's almost a week late, shush.
Anyway... I was able to get out of my class early, as I expected. My teacher is awesome like that (example: I'm lending him my Berserk manga and I got him hooked on Katamari Damacy). So as of 10:30, after filling up my gas tank, I was on the road.
I arrived about noon-ish, and after finding a place to park, headed over to the convention center. In case you might have been wondering, I did get my badge on time, so I headed right in. I did not have a con schedule, so I didn't really go to any events. I spent some time wandering around, located the dealers' room, and looked for cosplayers to take pictures of. Right before 1:00, I found the Final Fantasy photo shoot and hung around long enough to get pictures of the FF12 group.
After that, I had to immediately head over to the Hyatt's lobby and the big ugly statue/sculpture there for the CFUD meet up. (For those that don't know, campfuckudie is a crack role play I participate in and those of us players/audience that were going to ACen decided we should get together while we were there.) After introductions, we all signed socchan's shirt and she audience married us all (and gave out rings, even). Deciding we needed to eat, the group headed over to the McDonald's. We ate and talked about lots of things, like apping, our characters, cosplay, cosplaying our characters, pr0n, and Xenogears. When we were done, we headed back to the con and, after a short trip to buy more porn, hung around until 5:00, when two of our group had to leave. After that, the rest of us looked around artist's alley. At 5:30, a bathroom break was initiated and it was revealed that the dealer's room closed at 6:00. As I still had to drive home that night and hadn't done any of my shopping yet, I said goodbye to everyone and went to go buy stuff.
Shopping was a bit of a disappointment--I was hoping to pick up Berserk #31 and Get Backers #35 (and possibly 39, as well). Sadly, Sasuga Books did not have any of them. I did pick up Saiyuki Gaiden #2, the .hack//Analysis book, and a really cool Suikoden 5 phone strap. I also got the copy of Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust that I wanted. Aaaaaand at a booth that was selling import games, I got an actual, physical copy of Seiken Densetsu 3. Pictures forthcoming!
So when I was done shopping, I drove home. I then spent about thirty minutes with a metal file and pliers altering my SNES Game Genie so I could play my new game. And it works too! =D
Other than that, all I've been doing in my free time since then is playing .hack//G.U., Vol. 2. Game's really good, though I think I'm near the end. Just got done with the events at Moon Tree. Sakaki can go die in a fire. Haaaaaate.
