ATTENTION!
To all those who are bitching, moaning, or otherwise complaining about the new translation used for the GBA port of Final Fantasy VI, I have this to say: SHUT THE FUCK UP. If you'd take a few seconds to stop viewing the game through the filter of nostalgia, you'd realize how much better the new translation really is. Yeah, a few "classic" lines are gone--big deal. Go play the old version on your SNES/PSX/emulator if they really mean that much to you. The new translation? Old lines have been redone so that they actually make sense now, or have had lines added back into the game that were originally dumped to make the game fit on the SNES cart. Ooo, Cyan uses "Bushido" now instead of "SwdTch". Oh noes! Sabin has Phantom Rush instead of Bum Rush! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!!!
Big freakin' deal. You'd think people would be overjoyed to see the names/terms/dialogue as it was originally meant to be seen. But noooooooooooo... Everyone's gotta complain about it. More accurate translation? Less censored dialouge? Psh, who needs 'em? The Woolsey translation is Sacred and should be Preserved for all times! *headdesk headdesk headdesk*
Seriously, people. New translation. There's not a thing you can do about it, so get used to it. Or do I have to go out and buy you all a ladder to help you get over it?
And for the record? Banon telling the Narshe Elder that the Empire is seeking to acquire weapons of Magitek destruction is officially the Best Line Ever.
