Whew--we got about 17 inches of snow on the ground from yesterday's blizzard. It looked so pretty when I went out, it was still snowing, but sunny. The top layer of snow was all fluffy and kicked up in clouds when I walked, sticking on my eyelashes and hair, till i looked like I was wearing a lace veil.

The crapmobile barely started, and even though I let it warm up for almost ten minutes for the drive home it still was like pulling teeth to get it up over 30 miles an hour.

A couple days ago it was 59 degrees, and now we have record cold. It was cold in here even though I had the heat up to 85, even all wrapped up in my bed. The cats helped a lot, now that I have two; Dylan sleeps on my feet, and Bee snuggles with me under the covers.

I brought some snow in to show the kitten, who didn't know what to make of it. He bit it, and jumped back hastily. He batted some around and then was baffled when it 'vanished'. He ate the rest I think.

My once-lovely jade plant looks very worse for wear after Dylan knocked it off the table and spent the day chewing on it. Many of the stems broke or were chewed off. It looks like crap, and I couldn't rescue much of the dirt, so I have to scrounge some up to repot the poor thing. It looks terrible now. It's a cutting from my Grandma's plant, that she dug up out of my Uncle's yard and brought back in the car all the across the country, from west coast to east coast.
I still have the mint that she mailed me in an envelope, when I said on the phone that I wished we still had some in our garden.

I love hyacinths, and every year I look at them and think I would love to buy one, but they are so expensive. Well, this year I bought one! It's got buds still, which I hope won't die, and should be pink. Maybe I should ask Gairid for some tips on how to keep it alive?

I got the next two days off--whee!

I haven't done any art in like two years. It was kinda beaten out of me, but I seem to have been inspired by this guy: sandro-kopp.com
