Just feeding the koi. This is fascinating to my kitty.
It's super cold and snowy. Last night the temps across the lake were in the -22 range, and all that should be here tonight. I got off work and it was snowing just a bit, so I went to use my pizza BOGO coupon that is only good in Thursdays. By the time I was headed back, it had gone from "snowing" to "whiteout" and was kind of a scary trip home. That road has big open fields, and the wind alone when it's icy can blow your car right off the road. The traffic was driving with one wheel on the shoulder just for the added traction. And also cause we couldn't tell where the center line was either. Then the people in front decided to stop suddenly, and I did manage to get the car stopped in time too, but I found out that I had way less traction than previously thought. Good thing I was hanging back really far.
Oh yeah, Wednesday, I'm getting into my car and I see that the new wiper had come apart. I made some unkind remarks about Walmart quality, and figured out how to snap the thing back together. I'm crossing my fingers that it stays that way. Oh yeah, I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics and got some Christmas decorations I'd wanted marked down to 90% off. W00t! \o/
The salesgirl looked at me with wide eyes, "Ohhh, just so you know, cause these are clearance items, you can't return them."
"For 69 cents, I think I'll take my chances."
I got two long (fake) pine garlands. Which are now hidden cause some idiot cat keeps eating them. And then regurgitating them. *shakes fist* I wanted to dress up the box stall with Christmas decorations and photograph horses looking out the window, and I'm still planning on it. They'll be for next Christmas. I got some plastic ornaments at Wally World on sale for a quarter to use, they'll look good on my tree, and if some horse bites them it won't be a disaster like with a glass one.
I had to special order comfy new shoes. I hope these will be good. I went to the good shoe store, and I was ready to settle for a pair they had, and the salesguy talked me out of them. "I don't think you're that happy with these." So the new shoes are getting sent to my place, since it's winter and driving sucks. And I can return them if they don't work either. :)
And yes, I'm up doing laundry. Well, I started laundry last night when I got home, and then I conked out (resting my back--my back was killing me and my neck where that lymph node has gone bad) and I just woke up and decided to put things in the dryer now. My stuff is probably done now. I'm mad at myself for falling asleep, but I feel so much better now. My lungs are screwed up again too. I had like two weeks of decent breathing there, now I've got another plug again.
And it's payday, so I can finally order the Vampire Hunter D books I've been wanting badly for a month now. *happy dance*
Mom is planning on coming out here Saturday, but I'm thinking she will cancel on me again due to weather. Grandma is having a very bad time connecting to reality lately, so Mom needs a day off for herself and wants to come out here. She wanted to look at antiques, and I think Saturday is the big monthly antique fair day. I should look that up....
