It may be raining gently outside, or else the wind is rattling the leaves just so that it is fooling my ears. It is pleasantly cool now, so much that I'm almost shivering after baking in the office at work all day.

It was so hot Saturday that the old butter I threw in the trash melted all over my floor. MELTED! I discovered this when I was absentmindedly on my way to get a drink from the fridge and my foot shot out from under me. I did some spectacular aerial work to stay upright there. And then later after I went back for something, and found that I had missed a spot of grease, and did the same thing again.

My sister gave me her footbath, and I soaked my poor feet after work in it with some epsom salts which seems to have calmed the infection somewhat for the moment. I wasn't sure if you could even put salts in it, but it seem to work alright. It has rollers in the bottom to soothe your feet, but my right foot is much too sore to even touch those now. It had been getting better, but lately it's been on a sharp decline again.

When I was home last Monday, Dad broke Grandma's glass candy dish, and just left all the glass on the floor without telling anyone. I walked around the coffee table to get my socks to go home in the dark, and my poor right foot found the glass shards, some of which were almost four inches long. So not only have I got to stand on damaged ligaments, but cuts from glass that some idiot just left on the carpet cause they were too lazy to pick up. *fumes*

Mr. CB was very late to work because he was working with tools before he came to work, and tugged his drill forward, not realizing the cord was wrapped around some 2x4s, and half-brained himself with a board. I still think he should have gone to the ER to get checked out, cause hours later when he came in he still seemed a bit out of it, and his head still hurt pretty bad. Hopefully he's alright.

Work keeps hiring people even though none of us are getting the hours we are supposed to be getting. Two more people have quit this week. None of them are people I want to see go of course.

Jabba's been very nasty to Mr. CB, very nasty, he's genuinely friendly and nice, and customers like to talk to him--which means she must hate him violently, that's how she rolls--but the big boss got wind of it at last (when anyone has gone to him about Jabba's behavior, he refuses to believe it, cause she's so sickly sweet and ass-licking in front of him) and he and Jabba had a "chat" that ended with her in tears. That whole paragraph was a run-on and I don't care. I'm really very tired right now.

The Flobots' song Handlebars has been in my head all day--I think I've heard it before but I really heard it for the first time last night and it is amazing. I've also just discovered Highland, and want to hear more of The Rasmus, Ten Years, and maybe Breaking Benjamin (oooh, so mainstream for me), but right now I'm going through some Fields of the Nephilim songs. There were several songs I used to hear on Spinner that were fantastic, but I have no idea what their titles are. They are very similar to Joy Division, but more developed and less minimalistic and stark.

I love that through high-speed and the Internet I have infinitely more access to music now that I've ever had in my life before. My parents only allowed their own music in the house, well, till I went to college and started being able to afford some music of my own. I still have very few CDs compared to my sister, but well, I'm friggin' poor. Now if I could only find that remix of "One Man Army" by Subterraneous that I heard on the underground college station one day life would be sweet, cause I think that might have to go into my top four favorite songs.

It is definitely raining now. I should take advantage of the cool and make pot pie or something that requires baking, but I am so tired and footsore I probably will not be able to make myself go through all that dish-washing and chopping to make something for dinner and just go hungry again.
