and her eyes beheld fountains of gold

Oh, I remembered the good thing I wanted to write about. Remember the forsythia I gave Mom for Mother's Day last year that she was so excited about?

She has been anxiously waiting to see if it survived the winter, and Friday morning it started to bloom for her with tiny gold blossoms. She's happy and so am I.

I paid for that with my lucky gold dollars I'd been carrying for years. Gold for gold--it was a good trade. Her eyes lit up when she saw it, but she didn't believe it was for her at first, I had to tell her several times, yes, it's for you.

Next, I want to find a magnolia tree for Joe's grave, and one for the front yard, or maybe by the redbud in front of the polebarn. Dad and I both love those and have wanted one for years. We do have an opening where the crabapple that died was as well...between those trees is where Belle, Kee-Beau and Dylan are buried, :(

Anyhow, I am happy that little forsythia made it through the winter.
