Day 8 -- still sick. I'm losing my voice from all the coughing. I still have a fever, this is ridiculous. This is way way worse than the swine flu.
I worked ten hours Sunday, feeling pretty horrible, and was swaying on my very sore feet by the end, but I still had to go to Wally World and get some things. There was a big snowstorm on the way, so I decided no matter how close I was to falling over, or wheezy, I had better go before it started.
It started to rain a little as I drove out of the parking lot. It was slushy rain, and was coming down good by the time I got to the store. By the time I got out, it was heavy wet snow, and seemed to be foggy as well. I could barely see on the way home. Once I made it though, the snow was very pretty coming down. I think I like snow at night best now, sparkling on everything. I twirled around trying to catch snowflakes as I went back and forth unloading groceries.
Míríel was trying to sneak out again, so I took her out and dumped her in the snowbank to show her why that was a bad idea. She flailed and wailed when I was lowering her, but then ended up sniffing and scratching around in the snow. She's got so much fur on her feet that I doubt she even felt the cold. It was so funny, she was getting all silly and shoving the snow around with her front feet. I scooped her up before she was done because I was worried one of the people with pitbulls who don't believe in leashes would come out. When Mir got in she freaked out cause there was OMG snowflakes on her coat. Cue the panicked run around the living room, crashing into things and knocking stuff over. She did the same thing that last time she got a sticker on her fur. Eeee! Run for your life! I could practically see Belle sitting on the chair looking at her like she was a moron.
I didn't think we were getting that much snow, but everything, schools and even most of the colleges around, were shut down today. Mom said they got a good ten inches of snow, and it's really hard to get through for her and icy on top. (She finally admitted to me that her heart and lungs were damaged by her thyroid troubles, and her being stupid and not getting medical help sooner before it became life threatening. Stupid is my term for it, she didn't go that far. So now walking a short distance is a struggle for her.) I heard them shoveling outside after 4pm today, but I didn't look out, as I was dozing off to have horrible and complex nightmares about everything my brain could throw at me. It does look like a lot of snow out there.
I somehow have to pick myself up and go do at least one load of laundry so I have clothes for work tomorrow. More if I want clean sheets. Sheets are such a pain cause I have to wash them twice if I don't want to have a skin reaction even with super special detergent for people like me. XP Bleh!
Míríel has been playing with the small paper bag I gave her earlier in the week. It's super fun to hide behind to stalk toys, scratch around inside, toss around, and then flatten and sleep on. She rolls around on top of it when I go by, happy as a pig on slop. I had to rescue her when she got stuck in it earlier today, her claw got hooked inside, but she was sleeping on it shortly after.
I only told one person about the stupid fight with Jabba, but that person couldn't keep their mouth shut, so almost everyone has heard now. Anyway, they are viewing me as something of a hero now. I'm still waiting for that to bite me on the ass.
