I found it! I got some details wrong, and it was cuter in my memory, but oh well. :D
I think I should type up a Willow being smart story to counter the last one I put up on her. Cause she is darn smart. She's known as the horse that watches other horses do something, and then already mostly has it down when we try to teach her. Like lunging. And headset. She gets it from her mom, who can also do that, but only on Rachel-terms. Willow is much more training-friendly.
I keep thinking about a fic I read years ago and cannot find again--it was a YYH Rurouni Kenshin crossover. I hadn't seen any YYH yet, so it made little sense, but I think it would be cool to read now that I know who Kurama is. The story was Kurama being chased down and slain (mostly) by the hunter, and as he's running, he's remembering Battousai/Kenshin. Somehow they knew each other. I think they die on the same spot, or Kurama's remembering it that way. Anyway, when he gets born as Shuuichi he tweaks the body to have red-hair and alters his personality to resemble Kenshin in tribute.
Does that sound familiar to anyone? I want to read it again. It's partially why I started watching YYH in the first place.
