My grandpa passed away tonight at about 8:15 PM. I was at work.
Grandma is making no sense at all, and is hopefully asleep now. She was thinking that the oxygen and morphine were to stop his breathing, not help, and that if all the stuff came off he'd be all better. And that the heart monitor on his neck was to make him hear better. The staff are going to check on her every hour tonight. They were married for 67-68? years. They met in high school, and haven't been apart except for WWII. :(
Mom's wrist seems to be sprained, but no one read the x-rays yet. Of course it's her right hand, the one she needs to write, and use for everything.
The grandparents' have plots in NJ, but Grandma suddenly decided maybe we should bury him here so she can visit. So we have to look for somewhere for him to rest nearby now.
We're all very sad.
