Well, There's a Good Start...

Adventurous morning... Sal's fault. Again. (And mine, of course, I accidentally let him overheat...) Whee. Nothing like starting the day with a blinking question mark at startup! Am backing him up and then I will wipe the drive (just in case), do a fresh system install, and then move in from there, restoring anything important from the backup. And then, finally, while I am at work I will redo the backup from the new system. If only I had a new battery to go with it...

While I'm at it, I'm also backing up Harry here, who hasn't had a backup done in quite a while... Usual habit is once a quarter, but I didn't do it at the end of the last one. It's an agonizingly slow process though... I mirror the drive using the Restore function of Disk Utility; it's been at it well over an hour now.

In other news, I ordered my textbooks this morning. Shipping is ridiculous... I paid almost as much for shipping as I did for the books. Still, though, I did come up with a new recruiting phrase for the History department: Become a History Major -- the Books are Cheap!
