accidental arrangement
this morning when i arrived at work, i found a pink rose with a short stem lying on the floor in a pile of cut leaves and petals. i felt sad for it being alone, so i re-cut the stem (so that it's two times too short) and put it in a tiny vase with some sand and rocks and a little bit of greenery. i thought it looked funny with its short stem, but i put it on my desk so that it wouldn't go to waste.
just now, a customer was standing here talking with the owner about his arrangements, and while they were waiting for me to input his credit card information, she pointed to it and said, "look at this, so simple and beautiful."
i almost laughed out loud.
