So according to a friend who is a corporate tax lawyer, the economy has bottomed out in all of the major sectors and some of the earlier sectors are actually starting to recover. Since she does this sort of thing for a living, and is VERY good at what she does, I am going to believe her.
That doesn't mean it is immediately helping my (lack of) job situation. Two more places turned me down this morning. Tomorrow I have a phone interview with Bank of America for a part time teller position. Kara said not to worry about the lack of call from the Verizon call center either, it took them a month to call her back but that she started within 48 hours of the call. So hopefully something pans out. I will start my phlebotomy certification either July, August or October. Hopefully July. If not then, I certainly need a full time job for the summer.
Tomorrow I take Ryan to the orthopedic surgeon to see what we are going to do about his shoulder injury. They told him the last time he went to physical therapy for a minor dislocation (it self reduced but swelled etc.) that his next and only options would be surgery. I guess if he has to have it done, having me home to wait on him during his early recovery would be the time to do it. If he has to take medical leave though, he will only be getting 60% salary for the time he is out. Great news, right?
Nathan informed me yesterday that he got his girlfriend pregnant. She is due in December. She found out less than a week after her HIGH SCHOOL graduation. He will be 21 next month. I swear I was adopted.
This morning I bought a bike for $30 at Savers. I am going to go hit up Goodwill tomorrow and see if there is one there for Ryan. The other one at Savers needed all of the brakes and what not fixed/replaced and that just didn't seem worth it. My bike needs a new seat cover (probably handle covers too) because it is black, not because they are in bad shape. It also needs a new inner tube, but all in all, I think it was a great purchase and am very excited! It is hunter green and silver. There have been a few used bikes for reasonable prices, but they have all been pink... and that is just not acceptable.
For now, my head feels like it is going to explode so I am going to catch a cat nap before I have to go and get Ryan from work.
