woo.. My pocket knife's not dull anymore!
Friday I was bored and it was rainy and no one wanted to go to the game so I was sitting at the barn with nothing to do (but play with Jewel in the paddock). So I called Mer and in a little while her and Ashley came and picked me up and we went to Lindy's. We rode the 4-wheeler (Alex tried to kill me by going about 90 on the freaking trail, aagh; but it was fun) and sat around talking at Robby's house (another friend of her's). Then around 10 we left and went to Waffle House for some din-din, then I went home and they went back to Ashley's. I had to get up this morning and go to the barn, since I haven't got to ride the boys in 3 days and I didn't get to work with Jewel Friday because of the rain.
So I went to the barn and got Jewel out and groomed her and then they were turning in and the colts were being fed so I put her back out to eat and just hung around for a while. Then Kenny came to the barn and I took him on a trail ride. Rebel was being a brat and spooking at things so we got ran off on twice. Surprisingly, Kenny stayed on (yes Red ran off too, but I didn't fall either). So about midway we turned around and went back since there was a lot more traffic than usual on Corley Mill and I didn't want Kenny to get hurt on his first ride, heh. (We'll save that for later, k? lol)
Then uh.. went back to the barn and I rode Rebel & Red in the ring for a little while.. then got Jewel out and messed around with her for a while.. though I didn't have time to saddle her or longe or anything. I just gave them treats and all (since I bought bunches of new stuff -- alfalfa cubes, vitamins, peppermint treats.. and then a feed bucket, scoop & martingales).
Jewel's such a sweetie. She's gotten to where she'll just walk over to me when I call her from the gate sometimes now. Saves me the trip of having to walk all through that manure. ick. I hope they don't get thrush out there. :\ It's disgusting. But if momma does end up buying her, we'll start boarding her in the barn and put her in a half stall.. probably with Dancer since it's right beside Red & Rebel's stall.
I didn't realize there was a knife sharpener on the back of the can opener. nifty. I thought I was gonna have to go get a rock from outside. I could barely cut thru haystring today.. >:o
But I guess I better go to sleep now. Have to get up early for church (it's homecoming). meh. Atleast my grandma will be making her mac-n-cheese pie! yumm.
