You are never intruding. Yes, he's still here now. It's rare for him to leave you on your own like this, isn't it?

Thank you. At least I know where he is. I was becoming concerned, especially after the talk we had last night and how upset he was to start with.

I don't really know what to say. I'm sorry you had such a shock.

He's left me for a few hours at a time, but this is new.

What had him so upset? I doubt that you have reason to be concerned as he seems fine now. Not that I've spoken with him personally.

This wasn't the first time I've found Armand in our bed and it likely won't be the last.

I don't know how to explain it simply. He was worried by the fact that he was becoming like Marius in respect of how he was treating me, and that I reflected his own behaviour towards Marius in return. This made him very upset. I couldn't reassure or comfort him.

It's not my place to say anything about it. I'm no-one.

If he was referring to acts of unnecessary punishment and manipulation, then I can understand why he believes this to be true. I know very little of his mortal life. We never spoke of it.

Say what you please, cher. You have as much of a right to express your thoughts as the rest of us.

Yes, that's what he meant. It upset him to think he might bear any resemblance to Marius.

That's very kind of you to say so, but I'm well aware that I am the outsider here. Some things are not for me to comment on. I know my place. I'm only human.

Perhaps this has given him reason to reconsider his actions toward you. That is not necessarily a bad thing.

Only human? You should consider yourself lucky. There is nothing that makes our kind superior to yours.

You were pale and thin when I saw you last. You should eat. I will bring something later if you tell me what you like. I prefer to remove myself from this house anyhow.

You have all known each other for so long and it's not my place to intrude after less than a year. I know I will have to share Armand's affections, but I am truly sorry for anything which causes you discomfort.

You don't think you should have a right to speak your mind? If that is what he has led you to believe, don't listen to any of it. Armand exists to cause me discomfort.

Actually I don't think there is much food in the house, so if it's not too much trouble, I would appreciate something. I don't mind at all what it is, whatever is most convenient.
