I don't know how this ends

Obviously we have a problem with the second half of our plot arc being all empty except for Damien's storyline, and even that doesn't have a resolution.
I want Suzette to be the one who ends the Dark God problem, and because both she and Damien exist, you have a pretty good setup now for a completely different set of gods, ones who can take the place of the consuming ones that used to exist in the misty country.
It works, kind of. Suzette and Damien are such opposites they have a perfect duality to them, her young and dark and female, him old and purehearted and male, they make a good yinyang. That's better than the old set of shiny vs dark and now only dark, with no real connection to the humanity they have such power over.
I don't know how they would defeat the dark god, I don't know how they'd physically get to the misty country, and I don't know why they would be inclined to do anything at all to change how things are.
Above all, and this is really the kicker because he's my main character, I don't know what any of this has to do with Alex.
Or Wolfgang, for that matter. Or Constantin, but that's ok if he's not in there.
I need to boil this down to a simple question so I can puzzle on it for some days.
We already know that souls with extra undead exposure are more solid and more "nutritious" than untouched ones. We also know that ones exposed to the power of the shiny god were less visible to the dark one the more they had, and vice versa for dark tainted ones.
~ We could find a way to taint all souls everywhere with shiny interference, and thus "starve" the dark god. Now we're totally godless!
~ We could find a way to create a shiny undead ("angel") and let the dark god consume it, thus killing it. Need to find a way to have that happen without putting out the sun, though, that would be bad.
~ We could get super solid in misty country, enough to take on the dark god hand-to-hand and kill it the old-fashioned way. Alex and the ghouls could do that, but they'd have a hard time working together, and would not be able to return to earth after.

Either way, we're going to end up with a misty country that's kind of a rotten place to go when you die. There are probably more options but I have been doing this for hours now and I can't think. Wolfgang is relevant but how??
