The Day.
Today was pretty normal but long, I worked from 9-6 at Nursery.
This morning I was with the Over 2s. Doing tidying up and just generally playing with them. Jade and I played Duplo Zoo and with the Magnetic Letters. But then Marie pissed me off, she was in charge today and decided she was going to get on my nerves. She asked me to tidy up, fare enough I didn’t mind doing that, but then at every meal time today she asked me to wash-up. I’m not her skivvy ! There are plenty of other people that are able to wash-up apart from me, I just don’t think her miracle grow needing brain was with it, or is ever with it!
Anyhow after Fruit Time and Lunch it quietened down a bit as 8 of the 20 children went off to Tadpoles (Fay’s other nursery that’s for 4-5 year olds, but is used to decrease the number at our nursery as well). So we were left with about 11 as many of the others went to bed for the afternoon.
At 1 I went to lunch for an hour. I sat in Fay’s kitchen (as her house is attached to the nursery) with Amy whilst eating my paté sandwiches, cheese and onion crisps, jaffa cakes and 2 mini rolls. We sat in a weird silence for a while but then crept into many short conversations. Amy had split her trousers and had this hole on her arse, hahahahaha did she deserve it or what! She’d walked down Hampton High Street with it and only realised when she came back to nursery. She was very embarrassed and froze herself by not wearing her jumper where it should be, but wearing it round her waist to cover her now much extended hole.
The afternoon wasn’t really that busy. Once the kids had woken up from their sleep, I went and put all the carry cots away and removed all bedding. Then changed the room back from Bed Time into normal Afternoon Time. I was reading and messing about with the kids once I’d finished. Anaya was standing at the window so I started messing around with her. Spinning her and tickling her. Then Stella and I started play fighting and pretending to cuddle but it was more like kick and snot all over Emily time.
A quick dinner followed, just sandwiches and cheese and stuff. Then whilst Ellen tidied up Anna and I took the kids into the front garden (which is really like a back garden with slides and stuff except it’s in the front, nah) to play. Stella and I were messing about again, we were chasing each other and kicking balls everywhere. Then Jade started hanging about me, wanting cuddles and attention. Nothing really happened after that, the kids came back from Tadpoles, then the parents came shortly to collect their children. And then I went home, on time for a change.
