Now, I like weather. On the whole the ebb and flow between wet and dry, hot and cold is one of the things that keeps life interesting. The ecology of the whole planet is geared round it , admittedly not so much at the equator.
I'll still complain if I think its to hot or too cold or if the wind chill is 20 degrees. And seasons still confuse me; "when did it become light at 10pm?" "No, wait, the sun sets before four..."
I have no words on natural disasters here, they're just shit. What we have today is inconvenience. A bit of snow isn't going to end the world nor is it messing with much of the nation's infrastructure, but what it is doing is preventing buses from getting up and down the hill where I live.
For some an excuse not to get to work or school may be welcomed, if only for a couple of days, but its thrown a real spanner in the works for me. You see, I'm meant to be performing in Lancaster on Friday (The Heavenly Creatures play in County Bar, come along if your free).
Now, unless the weather gets a lot worse, getting to Lancaster isn't the problem. The hour walk through the snow to the train station is. Especially saying as we still need practice and an hour in the snow isn't the best use of this time...
That said, we gigged in the snow in January and it was kinda awesome, so I'm looking forward to this, and if it all went smoothly where would the fun be?
As a side note, its weird the lack of ambient noise; no traffic, no wildlife. The house is mostly quiet despite people being in. Makes me think of Bjork...
