For a week it was all he talked about, and the conversation was always the same.

"It'll be fun. You can't not go."

"You can go without me."

"I can, but it won't be the same. I'm not going without you, and I want to go, so you have to go."

Of course you caved, because you always caved to Brian. You weren't even old enough to get in the door, but Brian found ways around that, because he always did. And Brian was beautiful, as always, if badly-dressed, but he could actually make it work for him. When he got out on the dance floor, it didn't matter that his shirt was terrible and that he couldn't dance, because everyone wanted to be around him or with him anyway and he had his pick and he knew it. Not entirely comfortable, you were content to let him be the star, because Brian was always undoubtedly a star, something so bright and so hot and so distant that you couldn't actually touch him, no matter how much you wanted to.

And when he brought you home half-drunk so you could get in trouble with your mom, it was all fine because he kissed you and gave you that smile and told you how much fun he had, and you promised to go back with him as soon as you weren't grounded anymore.

And you would go back, again and again and again. You'd watch him dance and drink and go off with strange guys to the back room, and you'd do some of that yourself, but you were really only here for him, because this was Brian in his element. It was fun for you, something to do, but for him it was home.
