Now see, even though I've never seen QAF (*ducks projectiles from remainder of audience*), I get a really good idea of the characters from this--who they are, what their relationships have been like, what they have been like. That's what I love about your writing: you're very good at giving us a smooth feel of who people are, and that's not easy to do.
