have you ever seen that kid sitting in the coffee house, or bar, and even though they're smiling and laughing with the people round, that persons eyes arent? do you ever wonder why?
do you ever wish you could walk up to them, and pick their brain, or would you rather leave them to their guarded thoughts?
maybe that kid isnt laughing or smiling at all. maybe that kid is busy contemplating his or her drink, only half listening to the goings on around him or her (hereon refd as him), and you can almost literally see him...traveling through the past, the future, the places he wishes he were...
he wishes he was somewhere else all the time, with someone he loves.
he wishes he could change the past, to make his future brighter.
he wishes he could understand her.
he wishes he would die to ease his seemingly eternal suffering.
he wishes he knew better in high school, that his actions would forever lose him his real friends.
he knows that no matter how hard he prays
how hard he begs
how hard he cries, the past will never change.
hind sight is almost always perfect.
he'd trusted over and over, been betrayed over and over
became a product of his environment.
probably if he knew....he might have been a little kinder.
but then, some people he felt just loved to be jaded, and grudging,
just to have something to be.
he can wish all he wants.
gaze longingly at the milk-cloud animals in his coffee
wishing he could be one of them
but he can't change the past.
and that is what hurts him the most.
and even now, someone is watching him from across the shop, seeing him
strolling through the past that is in his head
and dying in the present that is on this earth.
and they still dont understand.
