So I had the worst last day ever this past Thursday. Interning in NYC carrying pounds of clothes in black plastic garment bags crosstown, dehydrated and soaking wet with sweat is not my idea of a glamorous fashion job. Even seeing Ryan Gossling did nothing for me in this state. Needless to say, I was happy to be getting on the AC[R]E to go home. That's when I saw her. Who couldn't recognize that cute little black ponytail swinging or those ornate arm tattoos? It was Kathleen Hanna walking straight toward me. Stunned, I stopped and smiled. She smiled back so I asked for a picture and apologized for being a dork. She said it was cool even though she was in a bit of a rush. She introduced herself--being humble or gracious I guess, clearly I knew who she was--and asked me where I was headed as we huddled together for the pic. I told her I was heading home to Philly and took it. We headed down to the train together. I asked if Le Tigre would be back my way soon and she said they were busy working on some project but I didn't catch what she said. I figured it was a perfect opportunity to confirm a rumor. I asked if the whole Paris project was true, she laughed and said no, apparently it was a joke or something, she said "we're sellouts, but not that bad!" we laughed some more and she wished me luck with everything and I did the same and boarded my train. That definitely made up for my bad day.
she said she looked goofy, but of course it was me instead who looked goofy--where was I looking??
