Okay what I need is your Name: Chris Age:21 Sex: Other? Male Political affiliation (if any): Independent
And I need you to answer 10 questions truthfully.
.) Do you think people should be able to vote, even if they are uninformed about the issues/candidate? Yes - the mistakes they make will hopefully either teach them to learn or wipe the society away leaving the informed around. Also, who's to say what 'informed' is?
.) What is your opinion on preferential hiring/quotas/affirmative action? I think it is a nice way of trying to even things out, but in the end it doesn't work too well. Race and gender are constructions and basing decisions off of those things alone is troublesome because one's attribution could be different than their actual self.
.) Do you trust our government? Do you think that the general population trusts our government? Sure as hell not. My experiences on a college campus - no, the general public? Yes.
.) Do you believe that economic inequality is acceptable, as long as everyone has the same opportunity? Yes, only because I believe economics is secondhand to quality of life - which does not necessarily translate to materialism.
.) Do you believe the average citizen has the power to create change in the government? No, I do not. Unless there is a mass.
.) Do you believe that religion has plays a role in American politics? Yes, because Christianity has seeped through all of Western thought it means America got some too.
.) Do you believe that everyone should be responsible for their own well-being, or do you believe that the government should provide some kind of aid? Everyone should be responsible, but also the government, by virtue of us making one in the first place, should protect and cherish our needs and wants - and a universal want is insurance, a pillow for when we fall, and someone there to help pick up the pieces. We support it, it supports us.
.) If you were the leader of a community, would you allow a demonstration by a group whose views differed from yours? If you opposed their cause? Yes. Free speech is the utmost importance. Without dialectic reasoning nothing would move forward.
.) Which is more important, the rights of the individual, or the well-being of the nation as a whole? (AAHHHH CORE QUESTION!!) The rights of the individual - because what else do you have?
.) Do a candidate's morals play a role in how you view them? As a secondary quality. Their party platforms and what they plan to do is more important because it represents the masses agenda and what the candidate should be doing.
