"man will not merely endure"

Dec 13, 2009 04:59

I refuse to believe
that one day
there will be no more humans
to remember
that there were ever human beings.

If humankind does not annihilate itself,
we will eventually have the unique opportunity
to explore the great tapestry
which we are privileged
to be a part of.

I believe we have the power,
and, more importantly,
we have the drive
to find, amongst that gray,
vast emptiness,
another bright corner
of the universe
which welcomes us -
which we can call "home."

I believe we do not merely subsist.
We strive.
