I love my father, but he can be a real ungrateful jackass when he wants to be...
I bought him a cobalt/black DS Lite last night. I paid, in total, $350 for the DS, the insurance and replacement plan, a game, and a case to keep him from busting the thing, as well as three games of my own. Mom and he had gone to look at computers, and I was doing my own thing. Mom tells Dad to pick a game for himself. Now, my dad is a real martyr when he wants to be, and he's an even bigger baby when he wants to be. Since he's deaf, he can't hear well, but he reads lips. I had to explain to him FIVE TIMES that I was willing to get him another DS since he had my old one, which was one of the first DS's on the market; the DS phat or whatever the fuck it's called. When my father doesn't like the answer you give him, he'll turn away from you. I wanted to throw him into the rack of games because I was so frustrated. In the end, I convinced him to let me buy the DS for him.
I admit, I did it to keep some peace between my parents. I fully admit to spoiling them to keep them from arguing, because when Mom tries to buy something for herself, Dad gets jealous. Anyway, remember the computer I mentioned? Dad wants us to buy him all sorts of games for it. WHAT THE FUCK IS THE GODDAMN DS FOR, THEN, DECORATION?! I refuse to cave into that man when I already spent most of my money on him. Mom and I have bills too, damn it. Just last week I bought him a pair of sneakers to shut him up. I want him to grow the fuck up. He's 58 fucking years old, he needs to start acting like it.
