Re-affirmation of Faith

Jul 18, 2007 15:23

It's rather curious to see where the reaffirmations of faith occur. I was walking down to the local lunch place, and the sky had cleared up from the early overcast clouds.

The sky was a perfect colour of blue. White cumulous cluds dotted the skyline; some looking like cotton balls, others taking on other imaginative shapes.

The street was tree lined, and as I looked up, the green leaves of the trees framed the clouds. Everything seemed very saturated; the color of the leaves, the sky, and the clouds.

It was soo lovely. And it was in that moment that I felt that stir of faith that tells you--everything is alright, everything will be okay, that the Gods are here and they do love you.
It was a quiet contentness, a joy that I'm alive, and the love of life.
It was the utmost belief in myself and everything around me and above me.
It was a moment of Zen; a perfect moment of Ma'at.

SoapBox Moment
People spend so much time in petty squabbles or politick-ing for their own gain, whether it is at work, in-person, or on-line. There are the drama queens who read a slight in every single word; those who generate drama in real life or on those online forums (whether it be pagan, goth, or whatnought) and create drama where there is none; those who, for the lack of a better description, have nothing better to do with their lives than perpetuating lies, drama, and issues....all so they can feel 'important' or garner attention

What's the point? In the end, what does it get you? How does that fit into the larger scheme of things...life, universe, and everything? When you die, what they will remember about you?

Why not make yourself happy? Go out, breathe the fresh air, revel in nature, enjoy the very essence of life. Take a long walk. Smell the roses. Grab someone's hand and dance in the rain.

I think people take life for granted, going about, doing the same-old-things; spending 4-10 hours in front of the t.v or the computer....wasting themselves & their lives. It's sad, really.

I feel sorry for people who feel that they must be perpetually unhappy; that life is unfair, so they can't be happy; the perpetual victims of life.

Life is so sacred, so miraculous, so amazing.....it's such a shame to waste it.

I recall the lyrics to "Voices of the Sea" by Heather Alexander.

Never question what you do,
your life, it will remain with you
if you'll just believe

Your choices on life are yours. Your life is what you make it to be.
