That Book List

May 03, 2010 20:58

Bold the ones you’ve read COMPLETELY, italicise the ones you’ve read part of, and no cheating. Watching the movie or the cartoon doesn’t count. Abridged versions don’t count either. BTW, according to the BBC if you’ve read 7 of these, you are above the average.

Total Completely Read: 27 (looks like I've got some work to do...) )

Yeah, those were eye-rollers. I'm willing to bet that the BBC, or whoever I don't feel like checking, had absolutely nothing to do with the list. They're probably just getting credit for it.

I don't think this list was aimed at someone over the age of 30, and possibly not over 25. The kids these days try to take the short-cut on everything.

I have to agree with lebo_superman that this isn't aimed at people over 25- I mean, I've read in a couple of places that College Professors don't even bother assigning ANY novels anymore because the kids just won't read them.

Anyone over 20 or so probably did have to read several of these works in high school and college, under that? I wouldn't hold my breath...

They do Spark Notes these days instead of reading the book. :-(
