Semester of Hell

Ok so here's the deal. My first semester of Grad school has been kicking my ass. And not all of it, not even most of it, has to do with classes. It's more the accumulation of everything. Research techniques was pointless and I have no idea what it had to do with research. Comm inquiry was helpful with research, but it wasn't really the kind I do or all that connected with my section on comm which is Performance Studies. Studies in Drama was a great class, even if it was a lot of work. Add that to getting used to a new roommate, paying bills not just room and board, and not seeing the girls as often as I was used to and it is already a interesting mix. Then add my Mom being diagnosed with Brest Cancer and starting treatment and this semester goes down in memory as one of the worst EVER!

A couple days ago I was about ready to call it quits and go home. Just ask for incompletes in all my classes and drop it all for a while. Ash helped me vent and get over though, thankfully. I have now finished two classes and have 16 pages of writing between me and the end of this semester. Once I get that done I can focus on making the rest of my Yule presents. I think it also helping that Amelia, my roomie, and I have started a team for EMU's Relay for Life event. We have spent several hours this past week planning and organizing things so we can start strong in the new year. It feels good to be doing something. We are looking for people to join our team and help with all those fund raising ideas we've cooked up. We're also looking for donations. Anyone interested in joining or donating can do so here. http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?pg=team&fr_id=9618&team_id=187093 Now that I'm done ranting I want to wish everyone Happy Holidays. And a wonderful New Year! (not sure if I'm going to get a chance to post again before then so I figured I'd cover my bases)
