Table:
here Gibbs was in shock. There was no other word for it. He hadn't even managed to accept the fact that Ari had killed Kate, before Tony and Abby were dragging him down to the morgue and he was watching Kate sit up on the autopsy table, not even a scratch to show that a bullet had ever entered her skull.
He just blinked for a moment before pulling himself together and turning to stare at a grinning Tony. "DiNozzo...?"
"Well, Boss, there's something Abby and I have been meaning to tell you for a while now." He paused, enjoying the sight of Gibbs slowly losing his composure. "We're vampires."
Abby nodded enthusiastically, pigtails bouncing. "You see, Gibbs, Tony had a bad feeling, and when he has a bad feeling it's always a good idea to listen. So we talked to Kate, and she agreed to let me turn her. So now she's a vampire, too."
Kate just smiled at Gibbs and shrugged, swinging her legs over the side of the autopsy table. "Just be happy that I'm not dead, and after someone kills Ari then we can all have a nice, long discussion."
Gibbs just looked at his team, his very much alive team, and nodded. But after Ari was dead, Tony had some explaining to do.

Table:
here Gibbs hadn't planned on taking Tony up on his invitation to Christmas Eve dinner, but something the other man had said about Gibbs' holiday habits had stung, so he had changed his mind. Which was why Gibbs was standing outside Tony's apartment, hand raised to knock and listening to the sounds of the piano coming from inside.
He jerked backwards when the door suddenly opened before he knocked, but smiled when he saw Abby grinning at him from the doorway.
"Gibbs, you came! Get in here and meet everyone." She grabbed his arm and pulled him inside, shutting the door as she dragged him into the main room, which had more people in it than Gibbs had anticipated.
A dark-haired woman was sitting on the couch, a glass of wine in her hand. Tony was just barely visible in the kitchen, and a blond man was sitting at the piano absently picking out a slow melody. After a moment, the woman turned to look at the blond and let out a loud sigh.
"House, play an actual song. Don't just sit there and make noise."
The blond smirked at her. "Your wish is my command, Cuddy. After all, it is the holiday season." He switched melodies, and then began to sing.
'Hated me...I'd be foolish to ignore the possibility
That if we'd ever actually met,
you might have taken a really violent dislike to me.
Still, that's not the only problem that I can see.
Dead since 1993...you've been dead now...wait a minute, let me see
Fourteen years, come next January.
As a human being, you are history.
So why do I still long for you?
Why is my love so strong for you?
Why did I write this song for you?
Well, I guess it's just a mystery.'
Cuddy sighed as House finished. "That wasn't quite what I had in mind, House."
He just grinned. "Well, it's your own fault for not specifying. Remember that for next time."
Gibbs just turned to Abby, who started giggling at the expression on his face. "It's a strange family, but I think you'll fit in...eventually."
