/shamelessly steals bluestalking's subject line

I'm doing Audrey's and Beth's, so I'll post my questions at the end of the Beth post, which won't be until next time. But man I haven't done something non-work-or-relationship related in FOREVER, so, here you go!

(I miss reading and fandom and writing and my boyfriend and ONE MORE WEEK oh God I have to finish writing the midterm.)

01. What's your handwriting like? Neat? Sloppy? Girly, with big bubbly letters? What do you think it says about you?
My handwriting is girly in that it is not cramped and spikey, but it is not at all neat. It tends to slur into cursive when I’m not looking. I do pride it on being legible.

02. When you were little (let's say age 12 and under), what did you dream of growing up to become? Has that panned out?
Princess Aurora, an astronaut, um…an actress? I was twelve when I really started writing, although I’d written stories before then. I haven’t written anything in at least a month and a half, which depresses me. And I figured out the Princess Aurora thing didn’t pan out the evening of my sixteenth birthday. :-b

03. What are your three desert island books? Why?
The Once and Future King, the Bible, and…well, while I think, TOAFK is just so layered and rich and awesome and it would sustain me for quite some time. The Bible because while I have a ton of knowledge about it I haven’t really read it in a while (although that’s changing, bit by bit), and it also contains some of my favorite passages ever.

Guys I can’t come up with a third book SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG /falls back on The Faerie Queene because Spenser is awesome

04. Bronte (any of them) or Austen?
Mmmmmmmm…I’ve only read Emily, so, have to go with Jane on this one.

05. What's your favorite opening act you've ever seen? Who'd they open for, and did they steal the show from the headliner?
Okay so disclaimer I’ve only been to like three concerts, but the Guggenheim Grotto? Oh yes. The Guggenheim Grotto.
(Man thanks for prompting me to reread that post! That was a good night.)

06.Do you have a favorite song lyric?
Um. For what occasion? Because I have a song lyric for just about every occasion. I mean I’ve had “We independent women some mistake for whores/sayin’ why spend mine, when I can spend yours” from “Lady Marmalade” (the Moulin Rouge version) stuck in my head for no reason. WP linked me to a country song that describes us and even though the song is mediocre it still kind of gives me chills and so that gets stuck in my head.

Um…(going through my YouTube playlist) OH MAN I love Train lyrics. I love the twisty rhymes they do. I love the poetry of The Killers at their best. I OH MAN YOU GUYS THIS SONG, THIS SONG, I put the lyrics video at the end, it is awesome.

Anyway, give me a situation and I’ll give you a lyric, I guess? (Well, not I guess. Seriously. I am kind of known for this in real life.)

07. Coffee, tea, or soda?
Tea of the herbal non-caffeinated variety.

08. Are you crafty at all?
Not really. I cross-stitch when I think about it (my current two-year-old project is so…tiny…that I don’t like messing with it) and I’ve learned how to knit, and I would like to be craftier, or to know how to make things for myself (like sweaters!), but I am kind of hopeless in that department as well. I do not have a visual eye.

09. If you could only have one: Memes or Crack Fic?
Memes! You get to talk about yourself in memes, and find out about your friends. :-b

10. What is one tv show you were very hyped about that disappointed you? What about one that you didn't expect much from but came to love?
Don’t follow enough shows to say!

11. What's your worst retail experience? Could be online, as a worker, or as a shopper. Might have been your fault or even just something you witnessed.
Either the Christmas where I told a customer we had something in stock and then we didn’t and they were going to be back expecting it to be engraved and so I had to stay way late frantically calling the other stores in the area to see if they had one and how soon we could get it from them and then calling the customer to tell them there would be a delay. Also it was Christmas at the mall and our manager was gone because her son was in the hospital and we all worked overtime to cover her shifts.

Or, the time they made me wrap a woman’s gift in exchange for her donation to Make-A-Wish. I told them they didn’t want me to do it. I tried. I really did. And then they made me do it and fifteen minutes and copious amounts of tape later, they believed me, but it was too late. NEVER AGAIN. (See: kind of hopeless in the crafty department.)

OKAY OKAY behind this cut (for those with slow internets) is the song "The Ballad of Love and Hate" by The Avett Brothers, whose voices are so so soothing and who do lovely things with guitars. Only one of them sings this song, but I just...love it.
