This year was the third annual "Stay Up for 2 days straight because it's summer solstice", although this year I didn't put much effort into it. I was planning on staying up for two days but decided against it because I was going to go out later that day with Annie. So on Friday, I just had about an hour nap and got up at sunrise to see the light come in the window. To this day, I'm still not sure why I enjoy doing it. I just do.

As of June 15th, I officially finished my Computer Science course and ended up with a modest B+ mark. Consider how I horribly failed this course back in September, I suppose I could consider this semester to successful. It's just that I put so much effort into it, I'm surprised I did not get an A.

About that whole "put in lots of effort" thing...I always wonder if I'll ever be successful. A lot of my peers seem to have it going well for them, either volunteering at a lab or working at some job that furthers their effectiveness at finding a job related to their fields. And so I've been rejected or been told that the lab is not currently looking for new people since they themselves aren't doing anything. Looks like it's back to the typical summer job thing.

One of my friends is stay in San Diego for two months. Kinda jealous. My trip down there was cut short to 5 days because safeway is lame and wouldn't give me the extra weekend off. If I get a job early enough and get enough money, I'll probably go to San Diego in August and join him down there. See all the stuff I wanted to see.

Going? Not going? Not sure. I think that if I do go, I'll probably volunteer. Not really all that interested in shelling out dough for registration purposes, especially now. On that note, probably not going to dress up either. It's like...$150 minimum to make a somewhat descent costume. And I'd rather wear a decent costume than none at all. Maybe I'll go casual BK Ichigo.

I still have the sword, but I need to fix it up a bit. I also need black pants/jeans. Ah whatever. Don't know where I'm going to crash either, especially with SFU's silly rules on no townhouses this year. And I don't think I'll be able to get the car for the weekend and public transit is hideous.

I'll definitely bring the dowels I made though. I don't think the guys who brought the lightsabres for the last couple of years are going to bring them again. At least now for those who enjoyed the sparring we did a few years ago can do it and not worry about breaking expensive equipment.
