A sequence of events tonight

A friend's FB status reads as thus:

‎28 Days fans: "I think the key thing about Britain is that it's built on this deep, dark ocean of history. There are grassy, picturesque areas of London which you still can't put train tunnels through because they're actually covering plague pits. You just don't get that in America - the dark abyss of the past. And it makes Britain, as a location, very fertile ground for horror." - Danny Boyle

The US may have it's own dark abyss, but I think the public awareness of it is so much more limited. This quote gives me a much deeper appreciation of him as a filmmaker.

My reply to the aforementioned status:

D: D: D: why why why did i google plague pits after seeing this status?!?!

Twitter post a few minutes later:

WHY DO I GOOGLE SCARY THINGS?! WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF?! I LIVE ALONE AND ITS DARK AND SKERRRY NOW!! [boyfriend’s name] GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE!

Friend’s reply on her FB status:

[jade_mushroom], I apologize for any trauma I may have accidentally caused you.

My reply to that

for the love of God (disclaimer: which I dont believe in but having grown up in the west I now have a habit of calling upon He Who Does Not Exist upon moments of immense displeasure and distress such as that now currently inflicted -- oh good Lord [read disclaimer {wait am I allowed to brackets within brackets like this, or is that only allowable in maths?}] the windows just rattled really hard! -- but as an active atheist I feel the need to print this disclaimer whenever such incidences occur) and all that is holy (read previous), WHY did I do that?!
