Today I saw a woman pull up to the very front of a turning lane, ten reverse 50 metres or so back down the lane, and move onto the end of the line of traffic waiting at the red light.
The other day I was held up at lights by some on in the turning lane, to turn right, with his left hand indicator on, because he wanted to go straight, not turn.
ahem:
WHEN I WAS TAUGHT TO DRIVE IT WAS BEATEN INTO ME NOT TO DO ANYTHING STUPID/DANGEROUS IF I MAKE A MISTAKE.
I was trained to just follow through on my mistake and then, u turn when safe/legal/not absolutley idiotic to do so. I mean it adds maybe 3 minutes to your journey, as opposed to the same amount of time aggravating other drivers and just being stupid. This is in the middle of Melbourne's CBD. all day peak hour traffic! and these people just don't seem to care! how can they logically think 'oh, i'm holding up 5 or six cars
right now, but I'll just stay here, blocking the lane, because I fucked up and can't drive.'
feel better now
